Why Was My eBay Account Suspended?

What is MC999?
MC999 is a hold: eBay is saying 'first tell us who you are and what you are selling'. It usually arrives right after a new account's first listing. The worst response is to panic, abandon the account, or make a new one. The right path: contact eBay, give your correct information — in many cases the account is restored.
'Suspended right after my first listing' — why?
A new account + an expensive or branded first product + copied photos looks, to eBay's system, exactly like a fraud account looks. The system stops first and asks questions later. That is why your first listings should always be light, clean and your own.
Suspended? Do this, in this order
- Read eBay's email carefully — is it a restriction, a hold, or a permanent suspension?
- For a hold/restriction, contact eBay and provide whatever documents they ask for
- If you made a mistake, admit it and show your correction plan
- Do NOT make a new account immediately — the link will be detected, it will be banned too, this time for good

- First 2 weeks: few listings, your own photos
- Wholesale suppliers only — never retail dropshipping
- Stay away from suspicious branded items
- Reply to every customer message; upload tracking on time
When eBay says permanent, an account in that person's name generally cannot be created again. So don't treat the account as a toy — your first account IS your business.
